Stephen Campanelli, SOC

Camera Operator and Director

Stephen Campanelli never realized that the Super 8 films he made as a 12 year old would ever lead him down the incredible path that has made up his career. Working his way up from camera trainee to “A” Camera Operator, Stephen quickly fell in love with the steadicam, and immediately took the course from the esteemed inventor, Garrett Brown. The rest, as they say, is history. In 1994, he linked up with his boyhood idol, Clint Eastwood, on Bridges of Madison County, and this year will mark their 24th year as a tight knit team. Their films include, Million Dollar Baby, Mystic River and Gran Torino, to name a few. Stephen is following in his mentor’s footsteps and has recently directed 2 feature films; Momentum and the award-winning film Indian Horse. Stephen worked on Seven Psychopaths with Ben Davis, BSC as well as Martin McDonagh and is incredibly proud to represent Three Billboards Outside Ebbing Missouri as his second collaboration with them.
